Get the most of it!

I know I am asking a lot of questions about my lack of performance on driving a golf ball. I am serious about becoming the best I can be in the sport. I know I will never be a PGA product; however, learning is never a bad thing. When I received my Medicus double hinged driver I also received an instructional DVD. Of course in the DVD they showed the club breaking like the wind blew it over. I know my swing is terrible; the club was not breaking on me so I loosened the hinges, did I do the right thing with this aid or should I stay within manufactures specification? I did not get hurt on the price of buying both aids. I first went to the Medicus website after I had read something about them then went to eBay and bought both for the price of one. I have also bought a grip trainer from wal- mart expected to arrive this week (considering they said it was in stock at my local store and when I went there no one knew what it was) The DVD said there are 3 different grips on a club. The grip I use know is my right hand pinky finger interlocked with my left hand forefinger. This grip feels comfortable and I like it, however, am I using the right grip? If I am not then could someone tell me (please explain like I am a 2yr. old) all 3 different grips? As far as golf clubs go, could you also explain loft and lie, (again like I am a 2yr old) I am just not grasping the concept of the 2 and I know they are important or else people would not talk about them. I’m a right handed person. I find that for woods (driver included), I’d hit better using more of the left hand in a swing fashion, but with iron I use the left hand only as guide while inserting lots of power from the right hand at impact on the down swing. Is this the correct combination, as I often heard that one should be using same swing for both wood and iron shots although woods would be more of a sweeping?

Ok I tried to golf and I love it!… I went to a small golf course with 18 holes… the longest hole was 129 yards away.. it was perfect for me… ok my starting swing always always goes Right… I am a righthanded swinger to better give you an idea. I turn my body towards my right hand and my left hand is the hand infron t of the club.. anyways…lol.. so yeah I am a right handed swinger….lol… when I swing .. my ball always goes wide right.. and end up by the trees. I am however an excellent putter. But as far as using my wede and giving the ball a nice straight lift it eighther goes waaay right or I hit it dead center and rolls and or travels throught the ground like if I way putting really hard…. Why?… any tips.. I way using a wedge sorta looking like my 9 iron because a driver would be way way too hard for that small distance of holes (max 130 yards) Please help me.
yeah the balll just goes wide right right away.. ina steright line.. just goes right period.. and i have trouble getting it to lift and or float it up in the air like it should

i practice really hard and im a great golfer(2 handicap pretty much anywhere). and nothing is ever good enough for me and i always strive for the perfect golf game. alot of my friends said it isnt healthy because i think about my swing all the time(except when im golfing of course, im great at blacking out any thoughts) and one of my friends actually mentioned how i can hit a 200 yard shot and knock it 2 feet from the cup and i wouldnt be happy because my divot wasnt lined up to where i wanted it(true event actually)

to me my "its not good enough" scheme seems to work great for my golf game but what do you guys think? is it healthy golf wise? or just life wise? i have a great life, a great job, i go on dates, have awesome freaking doggies and i dont stress out too much but i do sometimes when im not swinging crisp. some of my friends say this isnt a healthy path for a 24 year old. i’d give up most of my possesions to become a pro, and im aware its slim making tour but i wont quit!

Yesterday I was at the range, and doing quite well in my opinion, then someone came up to me, and told me my swing was wrong, and told me plenty of things wrong with my swing and setup. I thought I was doing allright, as I was satisfied with my distance, hitting the ball straight and the ball flight was decent. I am a 15 handicap, and I have been golfing for a year and a half, so I know I dont have the perfect swing, and there is much to improve on. His advice, actually made me start to slice the ball, and when it wasnt working, he got quite offended when I pretty much told him "thanks but it doesnt work for me" he kind of curtly responded thats what his instructor taught him, and if I work on it iit will help me in the long run. But the advice mentally screwed me up, and I finished up the rest of the bucket mainly hacking, and am still upset about it today. So my question is, when people try to give you advice, is it rude to just flat out say no? Thanks.

a little hitch on the top of the swing – im a high handicapper and each time im on top of the swing, i noticed that there is a slight pause or "hitch" which really annoys me and it sometimes causes my wrist to break. i tried shortening my swing (hip wide) but im still doing it. instead of asking for a certified golf teacher for help ($$$) any drills i can do?

Graphite/Steel, Cavity/Blade, permiter weighting, Iometer whatever, titanium plating, turbo boosters, gel back, laser beams….so much crap involved in irons haha! What would be a good set of irons for me?

First off, I just started playing last year but fell in love with it and have gone as many times as I could. I’m already at an 8 handicap. My irons have really really improved the past couple of months and I am hitting the ball really well. Getting the ball up in the air quickly, really feeling my distance for each club, consistent swings, a nice divot mark in front of the ball which means my swing is bottoming out a few inches in front of the ball and all that stuff.

I’m 23 years old and pretty athletic and strong which some people say get steel shafts. Like I said i’m an 8 handicap. My irons go straight as an arrow except for my longer irons which once in awhile draw some. I want some nice irons and am looking to spend hopefully no more than 800 on them but will go up to 1000.

Here’s my distances:

5: 190-210
6:170-190
7:160-170
8:150-160
9:135-150
pw:100-135
sw:100 and under

Adding distance to golf shot?

I can currently drive about 240 yards. (I am 15) I play varsity golf and I want to add about 40-60 yards to my shot. What can I do as in buildup muscle? I have been using a grip strengthener for the last few days, what else can I do? I have the perfect swing according to many people and my coach (who shoots about a 55 on 9 holes) so I don’t rely on him too much. Please help me out thanks!
Yet, none of these answers say how I can build up muscle for a more powerful swing. I am 5 11 right now. "Join a weight class" yeah ok moron what am I supposed to work out

Why don't Golf Players work out?

In every other sport it seems like players are huge physically except for golf. Why is that? I’m not saying Steroid huge, but wouldn’t lifting weights help with distance? I know it’s all about having the perfect swing and not trying to kill the ball. But this question has always puzzled me. Please don’t flame me, I usually only Golf a couple times a year with my dad.
Damn, I didn’t know Tiger could bench 300…wow man he just looks so…average.
Nah, I’m good I’ll just take your word for it. And by the way I didn’t mean average like average Joe average. I mean like just for muscle mass. I can see him being bigger then most baseball players. But NBA and NFL players are a totally different category.

Can somebody please help me i allways seem to slice the ball or pull it can somebody tell me how to hold the club, position my feet and perfect my swing
