Get the most of it!

It seems that every time someone logs in here looking for swing advice the same usual culprits start preaching, usually saying to do this or do that – but does anyone stop to think just who this information is coming from?

It seems to me that getting swing tips online seems to be a risky proposition — as you never know if you’re getting advice from a pro (highly unlikely), or some 14 year old kid (school’s out for summer), or a 20-something handicap hacker (that’s just as likely to be worse at the game than the person asking).

Yes, I’m always suggesting for people to "check with the pro at your course for some lessons" – guilty as charged. Because when it comes down to it do you want instruction from someone that actually knows something, or some online poser that thinks they know something?

Golf’s already a hard enough game as it is, and getting confused by a lot of misinformation seems counterproductive.

Thoughts?????????????

I would put golfers into 3 categories:
1. Pros
2. Good golfers 0-18 handicaps
3. Everyone else

IMO equipment has improved the game for everyone, but mainly for the 0-18 handicaps.
Equipment has made the game easier to play. The balls go further, clubs are more forgiving.
Equipment has made the game more accessible i.e. the equipment is not as expensive as it was 30 years ago.
Good swings are helped more by equipment than bad swings or perfect swings.
I should say that equipment has made it possible for more people to enter the good golfer, 0-18 handicap level and thereby make golf more fun.

Does anyone think equipment is too good?
Why?

Why do men act like this?

Posted by admin

I just took up the game of golf and I’m taking lessons with this really cute young golf teacher and he was all cocky and confident, and he was standing behind me giving me instruction, and I just swung back not realizing how close he was and nailed in right in the balls with the club, and he totally overreacted falling on the ground holding his little balls like a little baby. Why do guys act like this, what happened to taking it like a man?

Right Sorry for the long detail, but hope you read on

Ok I have been playing golf for nearly 6 years and my handicap is 15.

I can hit my 7iron around 150-160. My driver can go around 280 with a good shot.

This season is my first real season I have taken golf pretty much very seriously and I have won a couple of competitions at my golf club, and I am in the final of a doubles knockout.

Saying all this….it has been done with a very flat swing, where as I take away I come around my body to far inside and my bad shots hook and I even pull alot. I tend to pull them on par 3s mainly.

I was going along fine with my swing untill back 9 of my game yesterday and I was hitting EVERYTHING with a high left pull.

Of course this could be just a bad round, or I am going to a bad spell.

I am thinking of changing my swing and sorting the proper swing plane. I could get some lessons and sort of go back to basics. Or I can play through it with my flat swing and fix it that way.

What would you do?

I really want to sort the swing out, I went the range today and just can’t do it. So I would need to get lessons.

The lower handicappers are saying sort the swing. Where the mid handicappers are saying stick with it because you have been winning like that, and it’s just a bad round like everyone does.

I have had plenty of good and bad rounds, but this was the one that sort of said sort the swing out.

Should I get lesson? Get a swing aid like David Leadbetter Swing Letter? Or Stay the same.

When I am at home I can see the correct swing path in my head and it seems really easy. When I try it even though it feels correct, I know it is not.
One other problem to add to my game is I am going away on holiday for 4 weeks soon.

Sorry for the long detail and I would apprecaite anything you can give back to me, please be constructive and as detailed as possible

Describe the perfect golf swing?

Posted by admin

OK, so my family reunion is in a week or two and we’re going to play golf. I need some advice on how to improve my swing. What, in your mind are the key points to a perfect swing and how do you prepare for a game of golf.

Im an expert on the game of golf I want to teach but its a who knows who buisness politcs! Teaching today is way to confusing
the game should be simplified in terms of basic teaching. Todays teachers forget about the number one element in the golf swing your hands without a good grip and ”Proper use of the hands""
You have nothing. The basics of golf are never taught today its all about positons moves and crap thats never really applied in true golf. The truth is this good golfers are relaxed they set their feet
nees and shoulders in unsion aligened together very simple. They
swing back and through the ball its nothing fancy you stay balanced by not worring about wheight shift it happens naturally. you must have relaxed hands relaxed legs swing back and let the club whip through with momentum you finsish on your left foot basics very easy. Teaching today suck and will mess up the golfer more than it will help>

Super Swing Golf?

Posted by admin

Is Kaz not winnable!?! She is NOT in the Super Swing Golf instructions manual that comes with the game and there are hardly any pictures of her online.

Does anyone know a website that I can find a character profile of Kaz and some pictures?

I’ve always kind of cycled with my golf swing, especially with my driver. I can only hit my driver straight every so often and I’ve never been able to use a 3 or 4 iron. Does anyone have any suggestions on good books that could help me out with my swing and perhaps all aspects of my game?
